  • School problems
  • Coping with parental illness
  • Social skills
  • Grief/Loss/Bereavement
  • Feeding Problems/Disorders
  • Coping with child sexual abuse
  • Mood problems
  • Physical Illness (e.g diabetes)
  • Anger management

As well as treating the issues listed above, Leah has a specialism in working with children with physical illness and feeding problems.

 Physical Illness

Leah recognises that adjusting to an illness, or its long term management regime, presents psychological challenges to children, young people and their families. She aims to improve communication and relationships within familes and to support them to work effectively with their medical teams. Together these goals can promote improved adherence to treatment programmes.

Feeding Problems/Disorders

Feeding difficulties, especially in the under fives, can create significant stress for children and their parents. Some children refuse certain foods or struggle with textures that are appropriate for their age. Other children have a history of medical problems (such as reflux) that have negatively effected feeding. When medical issues are well managed and feeding remains stressful, often there is psychological and behavioural component to the problem. Leah supports families alongside other involved professionals to foster postive change in the feeding process.
